my loves

i love thai food. my two favorite things to order have always been yellow curry and chicken satay. chicken satay comes with this delectable peanut sauce that i cannot resist. if there is any left over, i drink it. but last night a miraculous thing happened. i was introduced to massaman curry at thai mango and oh my heavens. it was curry plus that yummy taste of my chicken satay peanut sauce. i have seen the light.

another thing that i have become enamored with is foursquare. if you havent already, you best go sign yourself up. i cannot think of an intelligent way to explain it. but im going to be foursquaring my way through new york city in a few days, so you all can be jealous of all the awesome places i go.

and i cannot contain my excitement. new yorkkkkkkkkk is going to be so much fun. i am a lucky lucky girl. thanks mom and dad for making it possible for me to go.

darn good drawers

i have decided that i love illustrations. i wish i had that talent. nick and i, on another late night in the bfa lab stumbled across this guy, jim flora. his stuff is so fun and i cant stop looking at the prints on the site wishing i could buy one.

and then the other day, i bought a children's book, mr mysterious and company, written and illustrated by eric von schmidt. and this guy was not only a visual artist, he was also a musician and i guess a part time children's author. some people just have it all right? i love my book and i love this guys swag. apparently he was bffs with bob dylan. 

surrrrprise

every now and then i love to do search through books at the DI. yeah, sure its not the strand or anything, but you can still find a few gems if you have the patience. while i was there yesterday, i picked up a complete works of william shakespeare and inside i found these beautiful leaves that someone had pressed inside there. it made me so happy. unfortunately i did not purchase the book, but that didn't stop me from sneaking a few of those leaves into the copy of doctor zhivago that i did buy.
